Return to Work Coordination - Introduction
Overview
This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge of the return to work process in accordance with the WorkCover and Workers Compensation requirements.
Topics covered include:
The role of the rehabilitation coordinator includes working with special groups such as doctors, NESB workers, and rehabilitation providers. The role of insurers includes insurance arrangements, claims procedures, and premium calculation. Benefits for injured workers include developing a return to work plan and WorkCover/Workers Compensation contracts.
Who should attend?
Human resource management and persons who are nominated as Rehabilitation Coordinators and those involved in rehabilitation and return to work programs.
Regulatory Requirements for a Return to Work Coordinator
In NSW a Category 1 employer must employ or engage a person as a Return to Work Coordinator. A category 1 employer is: an employer whose basic tariff premium is in excess of $50,000 per year; or an employer who is self insured; or an employer who is insured by a specialised insurer, and who employs more than 20 workers (WorkCover NSW).
