OHS Committee Chairperson Workshop (NSW)
Overview
This course provides the OHS committee chairperson (who have completed the OHS Consultation Course) with an introduction to OHS principles and practice.
Topics covered include:
The OHS Committee and OHS Legislation; employer and employee responsibilities, preparing and chairing effective meetings; guidelines for dealing with people.
Who should attend?
Both experienced and newly elected OHS committee chairpersons.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this course participants will be able to:

Demonstrate understanding of the requirements for an OHS committee as outlined in legislation

Identify the roles and responsibilities of a Committee Chairperson

Prepare for and chair an effective OHS committee meeting

Identify skills for managing issue that may arise

Evaluate the effectiveness of an OHS Committee meeting.
Award
No formal assessments will be undertaken for this course. Students attending this course will be given a Statement of Attendance.
