Internal Auditing
Overview
This course provides the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out audits of an organisation’s Management Systems against defined audit programs and standards.
Topics covered include:
The techniques of auditing; attributes and skills of auditors; the conduct of the internal audit; and the compilation of audit reports; the nature of management systems and continuous improvement using policies and programs, roles and responsibilities for effective management and risk management.
Who should attend?
Internal (1st/2nd party) Auditors, Supervisors, Managers, OHS Representatives, or nominated staff who will serve as internal auditors and who need to review the Management System in their organisation’s operations to ensure the system is under control and being maintained and followed as it has been designed and implemented.

Training methods
The course will be presented by group discussion, video, action plan development, case studies, audit practical exercises, lecture and report writing. The course is interactive and practical. Bound course notes will be provided to each participant.
Assessment methods
No assessment will be undertaken for this course. This course cannot be used to transfer or upgrade to another higher level auditing course, as no assessment has been carried out.
