Recertification to Function as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer 30523QLD

Overview

This course updates participant’s knowledge of the current Workplace Health & Safety Act, Regulation and other Standards.
 

Who should attend?

All Workplace Health and Safety Officers who wish to continue working in this field must satisfactorily complete an authorised Re-certification Course before the expiration of the WHSO Certificate that is issued for a maximum of 5 years.

There is an option of sitting a Challenge Examination in conjunction with RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). Please contact your local NSCA Office for the RPL Criteria and costs.
 

Prerequisites

Must have been issued with a WHSO Certificate by the Department of Training & Industrial Relations. Copy of current WHSO card required with enrolment.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course participants will be able to:

• Describe changes made to the Act, Regulations and other standards

• Provide an awareness of the need to plan and develop procedures for emergency situations

• Provide process for managing claims pertaining to work-related injuries, work-caused illnesses and dangerous events.

Training methods

The course is theory based and conducted in accordance with the criteria set by the Department of Training and Industrial Relations.

Award

Participants who demonstrate competency by achieving a 75% pass mark, or more, for the theory examination will receive the Department of Training and Industrial Relations Assessment Report. Additionally, they will receive a NSCA Statement of Attendance Certificate.
