ACT Work Safety Representatives
Overview
This course provides elected work safety representatives with an understanding of their powers and the health and safety issues applicable to their position in industry.
Topics covered include:
OHS legislation; Causes of accidents; injury and dangerous occurrence reporting and recording requirements; Joint Consultation / function /role of inspectorate; Codes of Practice and Australian Standards; Communications and human relations; Safety inspections; Health and hygiene; OHS policies, programs and objectives; Work Safety committees.
Who should attend?
Work Safety Representatives or those who are intending to become representatives. In addition, interested employees and managers can attend if they so desire.
Learning outcomes
This course is intended to assist ACT organisation's in meeting their obligations under legislation to provide training to work safety representatives and to assist in implementing and promoting health and safety in the workplace.
