Overview
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage the principles of WHS risk management as an integral part of an effective WHS Management system.
Topics covered include:
WHS Law; Responsibilities and obligations of various parties; Consultation and Communication; Hazard Identification; Risk Assessment; Risk Control; OHS Management Systems; Emergency Management; Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
Who Should Attend
Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, Project Managers.
The course should assist in the development of appropriate attitudes to enable managers and supervisors to effectively manage work health and safety in their areas of responsibility.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the general provision of Work Health and Safety Legislation
- Describe the principles of a WHS Management System including duty of care responsibilities and supervisor and management responsibilities
- Describe the principles of implementing WHS Risk Management in the workplace as well as risk assessment process and hierarchy of control
- Describe the importance of procedures for the review of WHS performance in the workplace
- Understand the provisions of Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation provisions.
Award
No formal assessments will be undertaken for this course. Students attending this course will be given a Statement of Attendance.
