Confined Space Refresher
Overview
The aim of this course is to refresh previously trained persons in the requirements of legislation and AS/NZS 2865-2001 (Safe Working in a Confined Space) to ensure their skills are maintained. *Please provide current CPR certificate on enrolment.

Who Should Attend
Any employee who has been previously trained to competent person standard and who may work or is working in confined spaces. Evidence of completing the initial Safe Working in Confined Space (3 days) must be provided prior to enrolment.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Understand the legal requirements of AS/NZS 2865-2001 (Safe Working in Confined Spaces)

Identify the likely hazards faced by person involved in confined spaces work

Conduct risk assessment for confined spaces

Complete an entry permit for confined spaces work

Demonstrate the requirement for isolation and other risk control measures prior to confined space work

Demonstrate the use of safety and rescue equipment required for confined space work

Demonstrate the use of gas monitoring equipment and the methods of testing the atmosphere

Demonstrate the technique of casualty assessment
- Demonstrate rescue procedures.
Training methods
The course involves “hands-on” practical use of the equipment and is tailored to meet client needs in accordance with the objectives stated above.
Awards
Participants who successfully complete a practical examination will receive a NSCA Certificate of Attendance.
