Overview
This course provides managers with an understanding of OH&S philosophy, legal requirements and the principles of effective management of this function.
Topics covered include:
The size and scope of OH&S, legal perspective, employer and employee responsibilities, OH&S committees, the cause of accidents, and systematic risk management principles.
Who should attend?
Personnel with managerial responsibility.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Demonstrate a basic understanding of the size of the problems in OH&S

Identify the legal requirements for employers and managers

Explain the relationship between management system failures and the immediate causes of accidents

Demonstrate how to identify hazards and assess risks in the workplace, and identify means of controlling risks using a hierarchy of controls.
