Overview
This course provides participants with an understanding of the risk management process as it relates to workplace health and safety and the tools and techniques to assist in the management of workplace health and safety risks.
Who should attend?
All personnel who require an understanding of the application of the risk management process to workplace health and safety: managers, supervisors, team leaders, safety representatives, safety committee members, safety coordinators, operation personnel involved in the risk assessment process.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this course, participants will:

Understand the risk management process and how it relates to applicable workplace health and safety legislation

Identify workplace hazards using an approach relevant to the workplace and the hazards likely to be encountered

Assess risks, considering both the consequences and likelihood, using two different risk assessment tools (NSCA Risk Score Calculator and NSCA Risk Score Matrix)

Evaluate the acceptability of the risk and use the control hierarchy to identify the most effective ways of reducing risk to as low as reasonably practicable

Prepare plans and procedures for implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of risk control strategies

Develop a procedure for monitoring and reviewing existing risks and identifying new risks introduced to the workplace
Award
Upon completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attendance.
