Overview

The OHS Regulations 2007 require all workers on construction sites to complete a safety induction program and register with WorkSafe. Individuals applying for registration must have completed a nationally recognised course. The Course in Construction (OHS Induction) meets this requirement.
 

Who should attend?

All persons required to work on a construction site. There is no entry requirement for this course. A range of skills are recommended in reading and speaking that would enable an individual to read and interpret signs and procedures and communicate clearly with a range of individuals as part of a team.

 

Learning outcomes

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to work safely in the construction industry including:

  • Identifying OHS legislative requirements

  • Identifying construction hazards and control measures

  • Identifying OHS communication and reporting processes

  • Identifying OHS incident response procedures.

Award

Upon successful completion of this course together with an examination, participants will be issued with a Statement of Completion, as per WorkSafe Victoria requirements.
