Safety in Action 2012 & Melbourne Materials Handling
17-19 April 2012
Melbourne Exhibition Centre
Visitors to the Safety in Action trade show to be held in conjunction with Melbourne Materials Handling at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on 17-19 April are in store for a few surprises.
One is ViSafe (see image on the left), breakthrough wireless sensor technology to measure movements and muscle activity of the low back, shoulder, upper and lower limbs for people performing work tasks.
To be demonstrated at the dorsaVi stand, ViSafe uses small, low profile sensors, so workers can wear them unimpeded over a whole day while they perform their usual work tasks. The data is recorded and assessed to provide an objective picture of how people move at work so organisations can then develop strategies to eliminate, reduce or better manage physical effort and injury risks.
The innovation is one of hundreds of products and services to be showcased for the benefit of managers and supervisors across the board with an interest in workplace safety.
