HWL Ebsworth Lawyers Best Solution of an OHS&E Specific Workplace Risk

Nominations and awards will be split into the following two groups and judged accordingly:

A. Small business – 1 to 50 employees

B. Medium to large business – 50+ employees

This award is based on an innovative solution to a safety challenge or invention that significantly eliminates workplace risk. This could include changes to the work environment, new equipment or design solution.

For entry into this category your submission must answer the following:

• What were the specific OHS needs and/or OHS objectives that were addressed by your solution?

• What systematic approach was undertaken to identify the critical nature of the risk?

• What was the critical innovation in the solution? Was it a completely new and untried approach or an existing solution from an unrelated field used innovatively for the first time in a unique way for this risk?

• What was the significant improvement achieved as a result of the innovation?

• What was the impact of the solution on an OHS risk level?

• What was the key Return on Investment from the program (eg. improvement in workplace OHS, reduction in claims or incident/injury etc)

• How could this innovative solution be implemented and applied in other workplaces and situations?
