This award is based on an innovative solution to a safety challenge or invention that significantly eliminates workplace risk. This could include changes to the work environment, new equipment or design solution.

The following assessment criteria will be used in evaluating award submissions in this category:

• What was the specific OHS need/or OHS objective addressed by your solution?
   
• Provide evidence of a systematic approach to identifying the critical nature of the risk.
   
• What was the critical innovation in the solution? Is it a completely new and untried approach or an existing solution from an unrelated field used innovatively for the first time in a unique way for this risk?
   
• Description of the significant improvement achieved as a result of the innovation
   
• Impact of the solution on risk level
   
• Details of the key Return on Investment from the program (eg. improvement in OHS and/or environment in the workplace, reduction in claims or incident/injury)
   
• Power of the solution for application in other workplaces and in other situations.
