Diploma of Environmental Sustainability (30584QLD)
This course aims to give students the skills and knowledge to identify environmental issues, conduct environmental audits and advise management on recommendations to improve environmental performance. Additionally, the course will also give students the ability to ensure an organisation’s approach to environmental sustainability is soundly based and provide the basis to assist managers in developing programs and competencies for their own organisation in line with environmentally sustainable management.
Who is the Diploma for?
The Diploma of Environmental Sustainability is designed for:

specialist managers with responsibility for environmental sustainability, or
-
general managers with a specific brief to manage environmental performance - this could include owners/managers of small businesses, or
-
consultants or advisers helping organisations to manage environmental performance, or
-
those involved in a role that concerns sustainability activities in an organisation.
Entry Requirements
In order to gain entry to the program, participants must be involved in (or have access to) a role which incorporates the management of environmental sustainability. Participants need to demonstrate mature communication and sound literacy and numeracy skills. Participants need to have general management experience and the opportunity in their workplace and/or in their wider life experience to demonstrate competence against the standards.
Course Structure
The Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety contains eight competencies and are all completed at the pace of the student, with a maximum period of two years. Each unit has specific learning outcomes and is structured for self paced learning. Upon completion of each unit, students are to submit the assessment tasks for marking. Course Method
The Diploma of Environmental Sustainability offers two different options for completing the course.
Onsite learning is also available upon application.
1. Distance learning – This web based mode gives the flexibility to complete the course over a timeframe that best suits the students. Units are accessed via the NSCA website. Support is available via phone and email.
2. Blended Learning - Training is conducted over a period of 9 days, consisting of a 4 day block and a 5 day block with a 3 month gap in between. Course assessments are completed post workshop days.

Steps to Enrol
1. Download the Student Handbook.
2. View the course terms and conditions.
3. Are you a member of the NSCA? Quote your member number on your enrolment form to be eligible for our member rates. If not, join now.
4. Fill out and submit the Safety Skills Assessment.
5. You will receive email notification if you are authorised to enrol. If authorised, download and complete the Enrolment Form and fax to 07 3255 3281 or email to education@nsca.org.au.
6. Once your enrolment has been processed, you will receive notification of your enrolment. If you are attending a workshop, you will receive a confirmation letter in the post outlining the workshop venue, date and time.
